Jam Packed

Wow, today's post is going to be jam-packed. I've been seeing these super cute chalkboards in houses but wasn't really sure how I was going to incorporate one into my house. But I happened to be in World Market this weekend and found this gem:

I think that I paid $10 for it. I knew I didn't want to write with chalk because I feel like it's never perfect, so I busted out a silver sharpie leftover from Christmas and proceeded to personalize it:

We spend a LOT of time in the kitchen, so naturally that's where it ended up... I love stuff like this.

On my 36 in 360 list I have "Sister Day" which I was able to do Saturday.

My life is so busy between school, work, kids, being a wife/coworker/sister/friend/daughter that sometimes my relationship with my sisters falls by the way-side. It's sad, and something I definitely wanted to make sure I work on this year. Their lives are equally as busy so we coordinated a day out!

SO- we started off eating (of course) at BJ's! Yummmmmmmmmmmm

We had avocado egg-rolls, orange cream soda (lemonade for Coco) and a Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza.. Oh, and Coco had a desert!

Then we headed over so this super cool pottery painting place called Ceramics at Home.

It's exactly like As You Wish- BUT MUCH LESS $$$.
Example: I painted a LARGE serving bowl (that took me 3 hours to paint) and at As You Wish it was $55, at Ceramics at Home it was $14. No, I'm not kidding. If you are in the Phoenix area, I definitely recommend going there. The owner is awesome and the place is very warm and welcoming. Here is their website to check them out: http://www.ceramicsathome.com. I'll make sure to post the after pictures once we get them back in 2-3 days. Sam painted a super pretty bowl as a peony (my fav flower), Coco painted a cookie monster cup, and I painted that bowl. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed each others company.

Then we headed to the house where my sister found a lost long-haired shih-tzu. They naturally named it Oreo. It was in the street where they live and my sister picked it up and brought it home. They are making flyers to put around the neighborhood to see if anyone's lost him, but so far nothing has turned up! He was really scared, and still shaking when I saw him. We got him some dog food, gave him a bath and bought a toy to help cheer him up.

Another recent activity that I got to check off of my 36 in 360 list was to get my Florida license (for work). I've recently been made aware that I got it!! Woo Woo. Lots of hoops I had to jump through to get it.

My husband and I made Our Chicken Bryan friday night, and it's one of our favorites. While in college, the hubs worked at a large chain Italian restaurant and got to learn some of the recipes and turn them with a slight twist into our own. This is one you will want to make sure you write down.

Our Chicken Bryan

1 pack of chicken breast
1 bottle of beer
3/4 cup worcestershire sauce
Salt and Pepper to taste
Dash of crushed red pepper
Garlic powder to taste
Goat cheese (I bought Litehouse crumbles)
Sun dried tomatoes (I bought Mezzetta Julienne cut)
1 Lemon
3/4 cup butter
4 fresh basil leaves

Start by cleaning the fat off of the chicken and butterflying them (it helps cook faster and it helps with portion control). Put chicken in marinating bowl with beer, worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper, red pepper and garlic powder. Let marinade as long as possible (we usually decide last minute to make this, therefore it may only marinade for an hour and thats ok). Fire up the grill and cook the chicken.

While the chicken is cooking cut the lemon to extract the juice and put in sauce pan with butter and (diced) basil leaves. Bring to boil (this will serve as sauce on top of the chicken).

Once chicken is down, bring inside, pour sauce on top with a layer of goat cheese and a few dried tomatoes.

I served this meal with garlic, bacon mashed potatoes and a salad for the sides.

ENJOY!!

Until we meet again,

Stephanie
