Oh lovely 29

Today I feel OLD. Up until yesterday I realized that I was eh hm .. 29.. But didn't FEEL 29. I still look at myself as the same 22 year old that could wear anything she wants, eat anything she wants, never workout and would still look great (Don't get me wrong, I never thought I was the prettiest, thinnest, or best dressed- but it wasn't a thought for me).

Just recently I have been noticing that I am not as limber as I once was (Can you say couldn't walk the next day when I attempted to do the splits), I have some loosy goosy skin in places I never imagined, and when I attempted to run a 5k I had to stop multiple times and start walking. It probably also doesn't help that I got food poisoning yesterday at work, spent all day vomiting (I know, gross- but when I say all day, I literally mean it) and now this morning I feel like I've been run over by a train.

Gone are the days that I could throw those short shorts on without a care (partly in count of being a new mommy) and gone are the days of not taking care of myself. Period. For lent I gave up red meat and dairy. Let me tell you how HARD this combination is. I've been pretty good at only cheating on Fridays, but then it rolled into Saturdays and Sundays. However I noticed a huge difference in my waistline and my energy level when I didn't cheat. Summer is coming up and I want to make sure that I'm still looking good and get that energy back that I once had.

SO- Today I am going to vow to download the Couch to 5k APP (Thanks Miss Delacy), start off with day one, vow to eat red meat and dairy once a week ONLY. We also have a new gym that recently opened by my house that is super inexpensive that I'm going to look into joining. This is going to be the game changer for me, a lifestyle change. I WILL post before and after pics once the 9 weeks is up!

If you are looking for recipes for no red meat I recommend clicking HERE and if you are looking for other sources of protein I've been eating salmon (don't ask me about this today though, that's what I ate yesterday), almonds, broccoli, oatmeal, black eyed peas, and drinking orange juice!

Until we meet again,
Steph
