It was a haboob kind of monday

Yep it's 2:33am and here I lay posting away. To me it won't turn tuesday until I look at the clock in a frantic and try to get my son and myself out the door without looking like a hot mess.

If you live in Phoenix, then you know what exactly a haboob is. If you don't then see below:

These dust storms cause quite a ruckus around these parts, mostly due to the lack of visibility they cause. I first noticed the storm around 10am, and when I went to leave work I couldn't see enough to drive home and that was at 6pm. These little babies leave everyones cars and houses filthy, pool guys employed, and everyone wheezing.

So what is a girl to do?? Get my nails done of course :)

Today was a very emotional day for me. I received yet another email from the teacher in my sons class, and although I will not disclose the details (I still need to digest) I am left feeling emotionally drained. I did however come up with a plan to get my son back on track with a schedule. He's always done much better with a schedule. No more staying up past 8, no matter if we have company or not. Also I went to Barnes and Noble and raided their Pre-K educational books:

We started with the letter A this evening, and will continue on A for a week until I feel like he is bored senseless of the letter A. I googled some information on letter recognition today and found that there are many other parents like me getting concerns from teachers. A lot of the responses were that some children don't even catch on until they are SIX. That relieves me some, but nonetheless I will make sure I do everything possible to not get any more emails like the ones from the past few weeks.

  1. Mason didn't know all of his letters when he entered Kinder at the beginning of the year. Not that I didn't try to teach him, he just was very resistant. Now we are almost done with kindergarten and he read me Hop on Pop last night by himself. Don't worry, he is still a little guy and his main way of learning is by playing.
