Did I have some good wine last night? You betcha. Between my bestest and her husband and I we drank these little beauts:
Coppola Merlot: Very good. Full body Merlot. I'm not really a Merlot kind of gal, but this stuff was great!
These were more great Pino Noirs I'll be adding to the wine list here shortly today
In other news I made fruit bags for the little ones soccer game that is today (and I'm super sad that I'm missing- stupid work). Super simple to do, you just need: Ziplock bags, a knife and cutting board, oranges, apples, and strawberries. I quarter the oranges and leave the skin on them, cut the head and tail of the strawberries, and quarter the apples. Rinse them all under cool water and stuff the bags :) I'm sure they will enjoy them during half time.
Yesterday was a great day. Hubs went to work, bear went to school, so I was left with a lot of me time. First thing I had to take care of was the ol doctor appointment.
Where I waited, and waited, and waited , and then did some more waiting. There was literally not a person in sight in the office and I wasn't seen until 30 minutes AFTER my appointment time. annoysmetonoend
Then I headed to the gym with the best. I signed up with Gold's Gym (enter meat head picture) because of the price: $15 a month. You can't beat that! We both want to work on our overall fitness, see the dreaded before and after pictures here.
As first time Mom's we are just realizing that eating whatever you want whenever you want and not working out doesn't give us glorious bodies. SO, we've decided to proactively do something about it :)
I then got to do something that I never get to do, and that's make three visits to the grocery store! Fresh and Easy twice and Walmart once. I had to get some essentials for the new whip:
I totalled my car back at the end of January and we are just now getting around to replacing it. Hubs and I (for now) work at the same place so carpooling was pretty awesome. Plus not having the car payment was nice too. Note to all new car buyers: BUY GAP INSURANCE. I work in the insurance industry, and I can tell you that it's literally a lifesaver. I bought my Honda Fit for $27k and when it was totalled my insurance paid $18k (6 months after I bought it) and my Gap insurance paid the rest of what was owed off! I usually make the majority of my phone calls on my drive to and from work (Grandma being the top of the lsit) and since I haven't had my own vehicle that's gone by the wayside. I'm glad to be able to have some freedom again :)
For the rest of my day yesterday I got to clean the house, meet up with an old friend from work for an appetizer and then have dinner with the best, her hubs and son. We are so lucky that we all get along. Lots of times when you meet couples the wives don't like each other, the husbands don't, or the kids are not matches. We all match. So it's awesome, plus they live like 5 minutes away from our house.
For dinner the hubs grilled salmon (drooool) and a kale salad. Fresh and Easy has pre-packaged Kale salad on sale 2 for $4. I've never eaten Kale as a salad and I really love it. The texture is awesome and it has more vitamin C than an orange! (little tidbit from hubs). I found 15 sweet recipes HERE.
*I WISH I HAD THEIR ENERGY*
Needless to say, we all need a day to do what we want, even if it's nothing or going to the grocery store. I enjoyed mine :)
